97th Reunion of the Andrew K. Anderson Family The 97th Reunion of the Andrew K. Anderson family was held 1 August 2004 at the Community Center in Villisca, Iowa. Fifty-six family members representing the Ole and Ellen (Jergenson) Anderson, Andrew John and Caroline (Larson) Anderson and Sarah (Anderson) and Aleak Lee families and one guest were in attendance from eight states: Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois and Arizona. The 29 members representing the Aleak and Sarah (Anderson) Lee family were: Ed and Lea (Danielson) Gidley of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Darrin and Jennifer Lee and Garrett of Liberty, Missouri, John and Carla (Lee) Hiner of Kansas City, Missouri, John and Helen (Johnson/Heller) Hill, Lincoln, Nebraska, Larry Lee, Boone, Dale and Janice Shepherd, Lenox, Carl and Sandy Lee, Clarinda, Gilbert and Betty (Lee) Lindberg, Dan and Sherry Lindberg, Gary and Linda (Lindberg) Bruning, all of Villisca, Bob and Anna Lee, Marcia (Lee) and Mark Benda, Bob Lee, Jr., Patty (Lee) Wagaman, Kalli and Kolton, and Kaleb Wagaman and guest Katie Nelson, of Red Oak, Iowa. Andrew and Carolyn (Larson) Anderson family were represented by 21 members: Beverly (Windom) O'Riley, Mesa, Arizona, Karen (Cain) Neece, Redwood Falls, Minnesota, John and Marti (Cain) Loucks, Geneseo, Illinois, Ned and Joyce (Cain) Parrish, Des Moines, Bert and Bernice (Anderson) Miller, Paul Odson, Cheryl (Haley) Swartz, Jolene Bissell, all of Corning, Ben and Mary Ann (Hendrickson) Dunkin, Fort Collins, Colorado, Marvin and Deloris (Hendrickson) Peterson, and Joan (Rhamy) Haley, Nodaway, Steve and Linda (O¹Riley) Odson, Ankeny, Pat (Rhamy) Forschler, Colfax, Deloris (Orstad) Weaver, Grant, Darlene (Weaver) Bryant, Boone, Iowa. Ole and Ellen (Jergenson) Anderson family members present were: Dennis Devine and Joe Devine of Council Bluffs, Darwin Anderson, Red Oak, Brad and Marj Anderson, Van Meter, and LaDona Jergenson of Audubon, Iowa. Several members of this family had a conflict of family reunions this year. The bountiful noon dinner, prepared by the family members was enjoyed by one and all. The afternoon was spent visiting with our "cousins"and looking at family photos and memorabilia and taking photos of the various family groups. The family of Sarah and Aleak Lee had the most representation with 29 members, the oldest member present was shared by Paul Odson and Bert Miller at age 91, the youngest member was Garret Lee, at age 2, son of Darrin and Jennifer Lee, and Beverly (Windom) O'Riley, of Mesa, Arizona traveled the furthest. It
was with great sadness to report the death of Benton Cain, age 96,
husband of the late Velma (Hendrickson) Cain, on 17 Nov 2003. There
were several marriages and births to report. The next Anderson Reunion (98th) will be the 7th of August 2005 in the Villisca Community Center. |
