Darwin and Martha (Darnold) were married November 10, 1957, in Villisca, Iowa. They have two children, Patty (Randy) McPherren and Maggie (Tom) Lee and three grandchildren Blake McPherren and Morgan and Grace Lee.

Elvin and Ruth Moritz will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday, February 3, 2007. They were married at Mt. Holly, New Jersey in a double ceremony with her brother, the late, Earl and Genny Schenck, of Clarinda, before Company F departed for Ireland during World War II.
