Jessica Lynn Switzer and Mathew Alan McKinley of Albuquerque, New Mexico were married November 21, 2005 on Kahekili Beach, Kaanapali in Maui, Hawaii by Reverend Adam Goue.

A reception for the couple was held at Harrahs' Ballroom in Council Bluffs on November 26. Isabelle Brundieck of Lincoln, Ne. Niece of the bride, and Drei Hampel of Villisca, nephew of the groom, escorted the couple to the wedding table.

The bride is the daughter of John and the late Pam Holmes of Omaha, Ne. and Jim and Linda Switzer of Granby, CO.

The groom's parents are Bob and Donna Skow of Atlantic and Merl and Joyce McKinley of Albuquerque, NM. Grandmother is Della Coy of Villisca.

The couple are both employed with Ultimate Team Sales in Albuquerque.

Sara is a 2003 graduate of the University of Nebraska of Omaha. She is currently employed as an electrical engineer with Brewer Engineering in Ankeny, Iowa.

Marvin is a 2000 graduate of Commonwealth Institute of Mortuary Science in Houston, Texas and is currently employed as a licensed funeral director with Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak, Iowa.

Anna Renee Byrd and Anthony Glenn Boggess were united in marriage on September 10, 2005 at Pebble Hill Plantation, Thomasville Georgia.

The 6:30 p.m. wedding was performed by the Rev. John Whittington, on the lawn of the mansion. The bride was attended by Aimee Savy, sister of the bride, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Smith, sister of the groom, Courtney Jackson, cousin of the bride, and Ashley Jackson, friend of the bride. Dr. William Boggess, father of the groom was bestman. Groomsmen were Matthew Boggess, and Michael Boggess, brothers of the groom, and Daniel Mills, friend of the groom.

The bride’s parents are J. W. and Delania Byrd, Mayo, Florida. The groom’s parents are Cheryl Smith, Cross City, Florida, and Dr. William and Dr. Carolyn Boggess, Corvallis, Oregon.

Grandparents of the groom are Rose Marie Shaw, Red Oak, Iowa, and Jim and Effie Boggess, Clarinda, Iowa. All three grandparents attended the ceremony.

After a honeymoon trip to Montana, Anna and Anthony are at home at Cross City, Florida.

 

Jami and Chris Pechanec

Jami Pechanec of Overland Park, Ks. and Chris Herzberg of Kansas City, Mo., were united in marriage at 5 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2005.

The ceremony was held at Spencer Chapel, K. U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Ks with the Rev. Golda Masters of Kansas City officiating. The bride is the daughter of Ivan and Linda Pechanec of Wichita, Ks. The bridegroom is the son of Darrel and Mavis Herzberg of Villisca, Ia.

The bride wore a full length, ivory wedding gown and carried a bouquet of Cala Lilies, daises, roses and other lilies. The groom wore a black tuxedo. The alter and alter rail were decorated with Easter lilies for the ceremony. Karen Engelbretson was the organist for the wedding and sang "In This Very Room" as the candlelighters lit the candles. The candlelighters were the bride and grooms mothers, each wearing full length black dresses. They also read scripture verses from the Bible during the ceremony. Linda Pechanec read I Corinthians Ch. 13. Mavis Herzberg read John 15: 9-17. Karen Engebretson also sang "I have Loved You" and "The Lords Prayer" during the ceremony. As the Unity Candle was lit, the vocalist sang "How Beautiful". A friend June Ashworth of Fairway, Ks., served as a witness for Jami and a brother, Steven Herzberg served as a witness for Chris. After a honeymoon to St. Thomas, the couple resides in Overland Park, Ks. Jami is senior vice-president with Management Science Associates in Kansas City and Chris is a teaaacher at Mill Creek Schools at Belton, Mo.

On April 16, the Darrel Herzbergs' hosted an open house for Chris and Jami Herzberg at Mt. Calvary Llutheeran Church basement in Villisca for friends and relatives of the Villisca, Clarinda, Co. Bluffs, Essex, Shenandoah, Red Oak, Essex and Emerson areas. California cousins also came for the occaasion. Bill Shipley greeted the guests. Diane Shipley prepared a powerpoint presentation of Chris and Jami's wedding for the guests to view. The ceremony was held at the Villisca Presbyterian Church with a reception following at the Red Coach Inn in Red Oak.

The groom is the son of Jim and Janet (Neal) Beerman of Omaha, Nebraska. The bride is the daughter of Charles and Kathleen Smith of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Brian is the grandson of Robert and Evelyn Neal of Villisca, Iowa.

Daniel is a 2002 graduate of Winfield R-IV High School. He graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics and Computer Technology from DeVry University in 2004. He is currently employed at Westar Display Technologies in St. Charles, MO, as an electromechanical technician.

Sherrill Sump, daughter of Ronald and Barbara Sump and Donald Bowman, son of Rosie Bowman and the late Donald Bowman were united in marriage on Oct. 16, 2004. The ceremony took place at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarinda with Pastor Gary Jaeckle as the Officiant. Mr and Mrs. Herbert sump are the bride's grandparents.

The bride's dress was a white A-line floor length dress with embroidery along the bottom, It had a square neckline and short sleeves. The bodice had embroidery swirls on it with pearls. The bridesmaids wore navy A-line dresses with embroidery and navy pearls around the waist. The groom and groomsmen wore black tuxes with maroon vests and ties.

Karla Blair, sister of the bride served as Matron of honor with bridesmaids being Pam Graham, sister of the groom; Jamey Sump, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mary Humphrey, friend of the bride. Best man was Joe Kernen, friend of the couple and groomsmen were Kenny Albertson, cousin of the groom, Dave Sump, brother of the bride and Ken Sump, brother of the bride. Flower girls were Lauren Blair, niece of the bride, Cara Velazquez, friend of the bride, Kelsie McClarnon, friend of the bride. The cake was made by Cheryl Stough and a Boyd's Bear wedding couple was place on top of the cake. Serving cake was Kristine Castle, Donna McClain, Vicki Brown and Jackie Brown, cousins of the bride and Kim Williams, friend of the bride. Kitchen attendants were Joyce Johnson, Clythia Brown and Marie Sump, aunts of the bride and Debbie Brown and Andrea Goranson, cousins of the bride. Center Stage Productions from Villisca provided the music for the evening.

The couple now resides in New Market.

Trisha Nicole Fast and Scott Jeffrey Owen were united in marriage on December 18, 2004, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca, IA. Officiating the double ring ceremony was Pastor Gordon Scott. Parents of the bride are Rich and Kay Fast of Villisca. Parents of the groom are Jeff and Janet Owen of Corning. Grandparents of the bride are Dwight and Janice Lewis, and Orville and Peg Fast, all of Villisca. Grandparents of the groom are Jim and Fay Bredensteiner, Margaret and Gerry Gardener, and Harley and Geri Owen. Great grandmothers of the groom are Doris Trullinger, Grace Owen and Leola Ward.

The bride chose a V-neck satin halter gown, forming into a symmetrical wrap, with beading around the front and the hem. She wore a round headpiece covered in pearls, and a fingertip length veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses, white ivy, greenery and pearls.

Laci Schafer, cousin of the bride, served as matron of honor, and Nicole Garrett, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. They wore strapless gowns of claret red, with a decorative beading trim. They carried candles in globes adorned with red roses and greenery. Bridesmaids were Katie James, friend of the bride; Kristin Fast, sister-in-law of the bride; and Kim Owen, sister of the groom. They wore dresses identical to the maid and matron of honor, with matching rhinestone necklaces and earrings.
Dustin Owen, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Dustin Fast, brother of the bride, and Ryan Olive, Beau Lyddon and Corey Wilkinson, friends of the groom. The ushers were Blake Eno, cousin of the bride, and Drew Rychnovsky, Adam Amdor and Travis Dobrovolny, friends of the groom. The groom, groomsmen and ushers wore traditional three button notch black tuxedos with white mandarin shirts and platinum vests.

Carol Eno, aunt of the bride, provided prelude piano music. She accompanied her son, Scott Eno, as he performed saxophone solos Forever in Love, The Wedding Song and Morning. The candles were lit by Lauren and Collin Fast, cousins of the bride. The parents and grandparents were ushered in to a recording of The Parent's Prayer sung by Kay Fast, mother of the bride. The mothers lit candles to a recording of My Daughter's Eyes, also sung by Kay Fast. Trisha Fast sang There You Are, also prerecorded, during the lighting of the unity candle.

Flower girl was Lexie Haer, daughter of Jodi and Steve Haer. Ring bearers were Tyler Means, son of Clint and Shona Means, and Tallin Meyers, son of Shane and Kadee Myers. Bell ringers were Kelsey Means, daughter of Clint and Shona Means, and Morgan Haer, daughter of Steve and Jodi Haer. Sally Dunn and Katie Zellmer, friends of the bride, attended the guest book. Videographers were Shona Means and Jodi Haer, cousins of the bride.

The reception followed at Wibholm Hall in Clarinda with Carol and Mark Eno, Darrell and Cathi Fulton, Larry and Norma Fast, all aunts and uncles of the bride, and Ryan and Shirley Olive, friends of the groom, serving as hosts and hostesses. The couple is living in Corning. Trisha is a 2000 graduate of Villisca High School, a 2002 graduate of IWCC in Council Bluffs, and a 2004 graduate of NWMSU in Maryville, MO. Jordan Marsh and Sean Van Moorleghem were united in marriage September 24, 2004, at Saint Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Omaha, NE, with Father Donald Shane officiating.
Parents of the couple are Larry and Shelley Marsh of Villisca and Wayne and Mary Van Moorleghem of Omaha, NE. Special guests in attendance were grandmothers Reva Marsh of Villisca and Elizabeth Clavin and Irene Van Moorleghem, both of Omaha.

Matron of honor was Amy Marsh of Des Moines, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kristin Fangmeyer of Giltner, NE, sister of the groom, Sara Jensen and Alexis Carmichael, both of Des Moines and Dena Rupp and Jackie Lamprecht, both of Omaha, all friends of the bride. Jenny Kolar of Omaha, cousins of the groom was personal attendant.

Best man was Matthew Van Moorleghem of Omaha, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Tyler Marsh of Des Moines, brother of the bride, Barry Fangmeyer of Giltner, NE, brother-in-law of the groom, Brad Lauritsen of San Antonio, TX, Jeff Avery of Lincoln, and John Boever of Tahlequah, OK, all friends of the groom.

Susie Peterman, family friend of the bride, Sue Marullo, and Barb Ostblom, both aunts of the groom.

Jordan is a financial analyst for Tenaska, Inc. and Sean is a recruiter with Hemphill Search Group. After a honeymoon to Lake Tahoe, the couple resides at 9403 S. 234th St., Gretna, NE 68028.

After the wedding she plans to work for a year in the medical field and then continue her education to obtain her masters as a Physician's Assistant.

Mark is a 2000 graduate of Villisca High School and a 2004 graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in marketing. He currently resides in Jacksonville, FL where he continues to pursue his career as a commercial pilot at Airline Transport Professionals.

The couple is planning a May 14, 2005 wedding at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Ia.

Karen J. Orr, daughter of Bernard and Bobbin Orr of Villisca, and Jeramiah D. Mullen, son of Kerry and Donna Mullen of Corning were united in marriage Nov. 26, 2004 at the National Guard Armory in Corning, IA.
Officiating their ceremony was Reverend Ken Rummer of the Presbyterian Church in Corning.

Attending the bride were her maid-of-honor Becca Bladt, and bridesmaid Julie Greenfield, both of Villisca, both friends of the bride.

Attending the groom were best man Ben Mullen, and groomsman Tim Mullen, both of Corning and both brothers of the groom. Zander Steiner of Villisca and Haley Orr of Council Bluffs were the ring bearer and flower girl; Allie Bronner of Villisca assisted them. Xavier Steiner and Tyler Hoover, both of Villisca were the aisle runners and Lexi Bronner of Villisca assisted them. They are all nieces and nephews of the bride. Dinner and dancing followed the ceremony with music being provided b Ultimate Music of Villisca.

The bride, a 2003 graduate of Villisca High School is currently attending Southwestern Community College. The groom, a 2003 graduate of Corning High School is currently in the United States Marines. After his return from Iraq they will reside in North Carolina, where he is currently stationed.

Kelly is the daughter of Lynn and Vickie Wolfe of Villisca and the granddaughter of Stan and Janice Peterson of Stanton and Betty Wolfe of Villisca. Eric is the son of Dick and Gloria Kline of Villisca and grandson of Betty Crawford of Clarinda.

A reception and dance were held at the Clarinda Pavilion.

Eric, a recent graduate of Iowa State University and commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force will be a communications officer with the 505th Communications Squadron at Hulburt Field in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Kelly will reside in Ames, IA finishing her degree in dietetics at Iowa State University in May of this year.
